Understanding Dark Matter throughout Cosmic History
There is overwhelming evidence for the existence of dark matter. It plays a
crucial role in the formation of structure in the Universe, but little is
known about its properties beyond gravitational effects. In this talk, I
will give an overview of the traditional methods of investigating the
particle nature of dark matter and discuss future prospects to explore
beyond the standard paradigm. In particular, I will focus on how
cosmological and astrophysical observations offer glimpses into different
cosmic eras to help unravel the mystery of dark matter.

Kimberly Boddy received her S.B. from MIT and Ph.D. from Caltech. After
postdoctoral positions at the University of Hawaii and Johns Hopkins
University, she will join the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin
as an assistant professor this fall. Kimberly is a theoretical physicist,
specializing in the intersection between particle physics, astrophysics,
and cosmology. Her primary research interest is searching for dark matter
interactions through their effects on the cosmic microwave background,
large-scale structure, and individual dark matter halos.

Introducer and Co-host:
Katherine Freese, University of Texas, Austin
Join the colloquium next Tuesday, August 18, for "Electronic Topology
Driven by Strong Correlations" with Silke Buehler-Paschen, Vienna
University of Technology

We host public lectures on Thursdays at 5:30 pm Aspen time (11:30 pm UTC).
This week, James Colin Hill will speak on "The Hubble Conundrum:
A Potential Hint of New Physics in the Universe's Oldest Light"

This summer, our colloquia and lectures were added to our YouTube channel,
AspenPhysics. Descriptions of both are on our website:
